Offered here is an extremely rare massive cut and faceted Steuben Crystal Pyramidon Sculpture by master designer George Thompson. Perfect for a milestone birthday, anniversary or for the collector with it's ebony faced special rotating base in it's sound vintage red leather Steuben box.
This big authentic Steuben crystal (made in USA of Steuben's original 10M formula optically pure glass) gem is in scratch free, new in box condition and has no scratches, no damage, no nicks or chips, and no display marks to the crystal. This Steuben sculpture is mouth blown, hand cut and faceted to perfection and then polished like a jewel with the base of pebbled glass in contrast with the water pure clear polished angled surfaces. As the piece is rotated on it's ebony turntable base, the pebble texture is reflected in the various surfaces, appearing and disappearing. This design was classified by Steuben as a Major Work in league with other Steuben pieces like Balloon Rally, Cathedral, Grecian Urn, New York New York. 8" tall by 5" wide with the weight approx.
8+lbs and clarity that Steuben was renown for. This will come packed in it's sound condition vintage velvet lined fitted red leather box with no stains and no mildew or nicotene odors etc.
Steuben Glass was the premier American glass company founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. It ranked as the world's foremost artisan glass house. Handmade by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY, it was frequently the United States' gift of State to foreign dignitaries.
Steuben marketed no "seconds, " items that did not meet their exacting standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben, a recognized luxury brand and the ultimate in art glass.
